Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Mascot Bing DwenDwen silicone shell
Bing Dwen Dwen wears a full-body “shell” made out of ice (The ice is made from Silicone material with compression molding process), which resembles an astronaut suit – a tribute to embracing new technologies for a future with infinite possibilities. The Silicone shell also helps the panda to skate, snowboard and ski alongside the Olympic athletes.
The bright colors of the halo(They are also made by solid and LSR Silicone material together with co-injection molding process) around its face are a representation of the latest advanced technologies of the ice and snow sport tracks at the Games, while the heart on its left palm symbolizes China’s hospitality for athletes and spectators at the Winter Olympics.

At the beginning of Oct 2020. We get the requirements of the silicone cover (shell) project from the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The total quantity is 0.5 million in 3 months. The sample lead-time is one week.
For this project, the silicone cover is too big to make even we are a professional silicone factory. The lead-time is urgent, the bright colorful halo， Even the Olympic Rings is a big problem to show on the shell.
The previous four factories do not have the capability to produce the silicone cover of Bing Dwen Dwen: Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Mascot. Z.S.R group is the fifth silicone factory of the Olympic Committee looking for.
They inform us: It is the biggest honor to make the Olympics Mascot Bing Dwen Dwen come true in this life. Maybe we only have this chance one time in our life. So, we would like to face these problems and challenges. We try our best to cooperate:
1. The oversize shell: Even as a professional silicone factory, It is the first time for us to make so big-size silicone shell. In order to make the silicone cover for produce, we need to make precision tooling.
2. The lead-time for the samples: According to the experience of our company, the lead-time for these silicone cover samples, should be at least 20 days. We start up our rapid response system to make the silicone tooling, thanks to our in-house tooling workshop. And we finally finished the silicone shell sample tooling in 7days, and make the silicone shell(ice)in Oct14th.
3. The colorful halo: The colorful halo is difficult to show up according to the Olympic committee informed. They have tried to find the solution for more than one month. After the hard research and communication with our team, we try to use the co-injection molding process to make the colorful halo and glue the halo on the face of Bing Dwen Dwen.
4. Olympic rings: With the silicone shell tooling making period, we are thinking about how to bring the Olympic rings about. We make up our decision for heat transfer printing. Then we try to make the heat transfer printing tooling.
With the cooperation with our team and our cooperate, partner, we products the first Bing Dwen Dwen sample on Oct16th.
The comments from our customer: We try one month to solve the silicone shell and halo and no result, this factory solve the problem in a short time. We get great results.
