Project details
An American fashion accessories brand planned to develop a portable storage bag for storing small items such as coins, earphones, and keys. The client initially intended to make a fine PU leather coin purse, but PU leather is prone to wear and tear, and the stitching is easily detached, resulting in an excessively long production cycle. Therefore, the client turned to a silicone products manufacturer.
Z.S.R Group actively communicated with clients, carefully listened to feedback, and developed a one-piece molded silicone clasp coin purse:
This coin purse requires no stitching, features a flap design, and uses a spring-loaded clasp with a ball at the top to open and close. The outer layer of the purse was printed using screen printing and pad printing processes. The challenge of this project lay in the printing, as the substrate was clearly visible.
Z.S.R Group ultimately adopted a 1:1 oil immersion process, manually dipping the silicone into oil to achieve the required print quality for the raised areas.

DFM Optimization Suggestions
The client provided Z.S.R Group with sample images of the coin purse’s outer layer, but lacked detailed information such as the internal structure, wall thickness, and draft angle. Z.S.R Group engineers offered optimization suggestions regarding appearance, assembly, demolding, and molding risks:
Adjust the bag wall thickness to a uniform 2.2mm; round the corners to R3-R5; set a 3° draft angle on the side walls; integrate the top decoration with the bag body; leave a 0.15mm gap for buckle installation; the parting line should be located at the maximum value of the bag body outline.
Specific reasons
Mold making, sample production & quality verification
Mold processing: Equipped with 6 advanced CNC machining centers and 4 EDM machining centers for the production of silicone bag molds.
Molding Process: 48 solid compression molding machines can rapidly mold 50,000 silicone bags within 40 days.
Secondary Vulcanization: Baking at 200℃ for 2 hours effectively removes volatile substances from the silicone, improving its feel and dimensional stability.
